In describing our work, we will often put it in terms of building adult capability; the need for active skill building and working with a common approach for practitioners to align outcomes and objectives to best meet the needs of clients.
The Society’s continuum of supports and services has developed over time with key tenants underpinning the foundations over 50 years of never a wrong door for a mother and her child; regardless of where a mother and child live, our services are open and available; from prevention through to intensive, and the need to navigate on behalf of families as well as actively advocating in their interests.
Central to working with mothers and children who have experienced varying degrees and stages of trauma, is an approach that aims for mothers and their children to flourish; to establish and support safe and nurturing environments; and mitigating the need for child protection involvement.
